The EcoChic Milan Exhibition took place within Italy's main sustainable trade fair, called 'Fa' la cosa giusta! meaning to 'do the right thing' on 12th-14th March in Milan.
'Fa' la cosa giusta!, which was open to the public, attracted 50,000 visitors in 2009 and the fair has become a benchmark for the exchange of ideas and solutions for sustainable lifestyles amongst consumers, organisations and institutions in Italy.
The EcoChic Milan Exhibition consisted of 18 of the eco-couture garments that were created specifically for 'EcoChic Geneva', which Green2greener co-organised with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) at the Palais des Nations, the United Nations' headquarters in Geneva, in January 2010.
These stunning, stylish and sustainable eco-couture garments were designed by a wide array of international designers, including Diane von Furstenberg, Manish Arora, John Rocha and Oliver Tolentino. The dresses demonstrate the application of ecologically-sustainable fabrics, such as soy, hemp, bamboo, organic cotton and silk within the luxury fashion industry. What better place to exhibit eco-luxury fashion than in one of the world's fashion capitals, Milan!
Green2greener is thankful to Okinawa, producer of the eco-friendly material Jacroki, for ensuring that this collection of sustainable eco-couture pieces was presented in the heart of Milan.
We look forward to continuing our work in Milan as we anticipate our
larger EcoChic Milan Fashion Show. For more information about this future EcoChic Milan Fashion
